Quantum RTLS achieves a positioning accuracy of 1.5 mm by using ultrasonic signals for ranging between devices. The system measures the time-of-flight of the ultrasonic signal as it travels through the air to calculate the distance from a Quantum RTLS mobile to nearby anchors. When a mobile is within line of sight to four or more anchors, multilateration is used to calculate the exact location of the mobile in 3D space and in real-time.
